MOSCOW, Dec 29 (PRIME) -- Telegram founder Pavel Durov has headed the Forbes list of 10 Russian billionaires who earned most in 2021 and whose fortune increased by U.S. $74.51 billion in total, Forbes said on Wednesday.

“The majority of Russian billionaires can say that the 2021 year, the second year of the coronavirus pandemic, has been successful: according to Forbes’ data, 70 out of 104 Russian participants of the rating of the richest people of the planet have increased their fortune,” Forbes said.

The list was headed by Durov, who added $13.81 billion to his fortune in 2021 thanks to a risen value of the messenger, which debuted in placing own bonds for $1 billion.

Re-evaluation of marketplace Wildberries propelled its founder and CEO Tatyana Bakalchuk to the second place. Her fortune rose by $11.92 billion.
